MUSANA CAMPS, MUKONO DISTRICT, UGANDA



Musana Camps is located by the shores of Lake Victoria in Uganda. With breathtaking scenery, it is a perfect place to take a retreat away from the busyness of the city center.


Encompassed by a massive shoreline, the beach is an entrance to a whole new adventure awaiting to be experienced once one is brave enough to hop on a canoe bound to the several islands close by.





Aboard the canoe, one experiences the huge waves underneath. For the fainthearted, it is an experience never to forget.


 A lovely sunset awaits the courageous enough to board the canoe to the island.


Upon arrival to one of the islands, one is amazed by the rocks that cover the ground like a carpet.



Onward to the mother rock whose peak can be arrived to via the caves by the shore. 


There lies a large array of smooth sea rocks, those that could only be found at the bottom of the lake. What awe when you discover that once upon a time, this island was under water, only to emerge from the lake a few years ago.


Waking up to beautiful sunrises every morning is worth the journey to Musana Camps.

NYERO ROCK PAINTINGS, UGANDA

Located in Teso region, Nyero Rock Paintings provide a perfect spot for rock climbers in Eastern Uganda. For me, it presents an outdoor challenge for me to conquer. The view from the top is magnificent. With so many rocks to climb, one is spoilt for choice.  Nyero Rock Paintings also tells a rich history dating back 5,000 years. It is said that the first occupants of this area were the Batwa who were pygmies, before being displaced by the Iteso who migrated into the area in the 17th century. This painting in particular has been used on one of the Uganda Shilling notes.  They painted symbols of their sun god and wildlife in the region as a means of communication. Some of these paintings still exist. With such a heritage, one is left in awe and wonder, curious to find out more about the early inhabitants of Teso.
